Two U.S. Coins Worth $10 million Each

March 8, 2015 – An 1822 Half Eagle $5 gold piece, one of only three known to exist, and an 1804 silver dollar dubbed the “King of American Coins” are slated to be auctioned by Sotheby’s as early as May of this year.  Either coin could break the $10 million record set in 2013 by a 1794 silver dollar, the first American metal dollar struck by the U.S. Mint.
