B-29 Over Los Angeles

March 17, 2015 – Los Angeles motorists and residents were surprised to see a B-29 Superfortress flying low over the city.  The restored World War II bomber, the type that dropped atom bombs on Japan in 1945, is on a nationwide tour giving flights.  The view from the gunner’s seat costs just under $600.  Add another $500 to ride in the cockpit.  The best view of all is from the bombardier’s seat in the nose of the plane and costs around $1,500.
