Haunting Ruins of Holmesburg Prison

April 18, 2015 – Holmesburg Prison, built in 1896 in Philadelphia, housed some of the nation’s most dangerous criminals and was also known for its use of prisoner volunteers for medical experiments.  The facility was abandoned in 1995.

Urban photographer Cindy Vasco recently captured eerie images of the ruins.
